Hong Kong records first coronavirus death as fatalities in mainland China hit 425

Health officials say the victim developed a fever after returning to Hong Kong, and was the city’s 13th confirmed case of the deadly epidemic. He was the second coronavirus fatality outside the Chinese mainland, after another death in the Philippines. As of February 3, mainland Chinese authorities confirmed 425 confirmed coronavirus fatalities, including 64 new deaths reported in the biggest daily increase in the figure since the outbreak started.
