Here's another YouTube tutorial on how to build your own lightsaber using parts from a home improvement store. Part List: - 1 1/4” Plastic Pop-up sink drain assembly ~7$ - At least 36” of 1/2” PVC pipe ~3$ - 1/2” coupling (optional but gives a snug fit for the blade into the hilt) ~30cents - Friction tape or hockey tape ~3$ - Electrical tape ~2$ - Epoxy ~5$ - #10-24 x 2” machine screw ~1$ - 1/4” flat washers x 2 ~1$ ( - #10-24 cap nut ~1$ Other configurations: Fellow YouTuber: shonuff6666 had some great suggestions from his build: Instead of using the 1/4" metal washers, he used 3/8" black nylon washers. Instead of the #10-24 2" machine screw and cap nut, he used a 1/4" carriage bot and cap nut. Great engineering! Thanks for sharing! Tools: - Dremel rotary tool or power drill with a sanding drum and a 1/8” drill bit - Sharpie or other marker - Scissors - Saw & mitre box This lightsaber does not light up or produce sounds. It is a prop that can be used for play or for video/photos if you plan on adding a saber effect using photo/video editing software. This prop is similar to what Star Wars actors used when filming: http://goo.gl/OPKZ5J Blaster @ 3:12 is the Nerf Strongarm pistol with custom paint job: http://amzn.to/1MSoa6W Lego kits used: X-Wing: http://amzn.to/1BfeTxJ TIE Advanced Prototype: http://amzn.to/1MSwB26 AT-AT: http://amzn.to/1HcybYT Snowspeeder: http://amzn.to/1I8PoDG Soundtrack: "Hypnothis" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/
