Hollow Knight is a very Metroid-style game with a ton of Dark Souls feeling gameplay in it, but isn't nearly as difficult (yet anyway). It's a very "where the crap do I go" type of game and has a lot of "what do I do next" moments, so if you're into a game that's basically Metroid but with hand drawn graphics then Hollow Knight might keep you buys for many many hours.
