HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse: The End of an Era

December 10th 1941: The ships of Force Z, led by the sole survivor of the Battle of the Denmark Strait, the King George V class Battleship HMS Prince of Wales and the Battlecruiser HMS Repulse set out to hault the Japanese Invasion of Malaysia. Off the cost of the Kuantan, Pahong Malaysia, the task force was attacked by elements of the Imperial Japanese Naval Air Corps 22nd Air Flotilia. By the time the guns fell silent both Prince of Wales and Repulse had plunged into the abyss, with the loss of 327 of Prince of Wales 1,521 crew, and 513 of Repulse's 1,181 crew.
