Hit & Miss engine turning over John Deere tractor

Here is my Economy 2 1/2 hp engine belted up to my 1946 John Deere model A tractor that I have been working on. I wanted to test the oil pressure before I started it for the first time, and I thought that the 6V starter wouldn't turn it over fast enough. Both the tractor and the Hit & Miss engine had flat belt pulleys so I thought, why not! It was a "hit and miss" experience" but it gave me the opportunity to have the engine actually do something useful. Now I have a great respect for the guys that had to use these 100 years ago. Enjoy!
