Hiking to Calloway Peak, Grandfather Mountain, NC - Winter 2016

Sam wanted to go camping for his 10th birthday, so we headed up to Calloway Peak, the summit of Grandfather Mountain (State Park). This video will show Profile Trail, Shanty Spring, and Calloway Peak in January. Unfortunately, my battery died on the phone and the recharging pack wouldn't work so I wasn't able to get video of Raven's Roost campsite. Raven's Roost is back down the other side of the mountain from Profile Trail. It was pretty treacherous getting down to it because the trail was almost entirely ice. The site was nice however as they have built a camping platform that is perfectly flat. #grandfathermountain #wintercamping #getoutside #campingwithchildren #hiking #camping
