High-end Audio Acoustical Treatment

An update from Mike Delgado on 10/13/2012: "Your acoustical room treatment is system is still working great! FYI...While I still have the speaker and amplification that was featured in your video, that equipment is now on the sidelines, waiting to be relocated or put in the basement for use in a second system, which will require your staff to scope another room for me. The Velodyne subs were sold and picked up a few days ago. I am now using a high efficiency, 107db efficient, all horn speaker system, that is being driven by 2 watt per channel Yamamoto 45 tube amplifier. This speaker system consists of a wooden bass horn (4 Eminence 18 drivers in mono), and wooden conical mid-bass (Eminence 15 inch drivers) and mid-rannge horns (BGS 2 inch compression), with Fostex horn tweeters. This is one of four of these systems, each being slightly different, in terms of wiring, crossover parts and compression driver selection. The builder has advised me that my specific system is the best of the four, due to specific parts selection. The front end (Sony SCD-1 and Teac Esoteric D-2) is still the same however the Esoteric D-2 will soon be replaced with a Musical Fidelity tube-hybrid KW preamplifier, which is being delivered in the next few weeks. Having said all that, the only constant in the "system" is your room treatment. Your approach to treating my room remains perfect for very diverse speaker systems (dipole or 60 degree conical horn), demonstrating your sound approach to addressing my specific need. It is faster than my previous system, effortless in presentation, has the same 3-D imaging, with superior impact capability and musicality.
