I.Allegro non troppo. Played by Isabelle Van Keulen (violin) and the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Colin Davis. Vieuxtemps was a violin virtuoso and wrote principally for his instrument. Written in 1861, this is Vieuxtemps most popular concerto, known as 'La Grétry' as it borrows from "Où peut-on être mieux qu'au sein de sa famille?" from Grétry's opera Lucile.
