This October, during National Breast Cancer Prevention Month, Provenance Hotels and The Keep A Breast Foundation are teaming up for their fifth consecutive breast cancer awareness campaign to debut Treasured Chest, a collaborative art exhibition featuring the casted torsos of 14 brave local breast cancer survivors transformed into beautiful works of art by the hands of 14 Portland artists. Debuting September 29th, 2016 at Sentinel, the life casts produced for Treasured Chest will be on view through October 30 in the windows of the hotel’s new street-facing event space, Elkspace, located along Alder Street between 10th and 11th Avenue.

About The KAB and Young Survival Coalition’s Treasured Chest Program:
The Keep A Breast and Young Survival Coalition’s Treasured Chest Program (TCP) gives any woman diagnosed with breast cancer or testing positive with the BRCA1, BRCA2 Gene an opportunity to document her body and feelings by turning her casted torso into a beautiful work of art. These unique pieces, The Keep A Breast Foundation Breast Casts™, are one-of-a-kind plaster forms that combine sculpture, charity, and artistry. They communicate complex emotions about breast health and the female form, allowing the castee to capture a specific point in her life.
About Keep A Breast "This is My Story" Campaign:
Through written and video testimony young people impacted by breast cancer get a chance to express their inner feelings, make connections with others and learn coping strategies helpful to them and their loved ones. Keep A Breast records these testimonies and posts them online for the benefit of others.

About The Keep A Breast Foundation:
The Keep A Breast Foundation™ is a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower young people around the world with breast health education and support. Since its inception in 2000, KAB has worked with young people to remove the shame associated with breasts and breast cancer health. Through various initiatives such as breast cast art exhibitions, the “Non Toxic Revolution” and "I love boobies!" campaign, KAB has opened up the dialog about breast cancer, and has proven to be a doorway to breast self-awareness and education.
Keep A Breast has grown into the leading global youth-based breast cancer prevention organization, with global affiliates in Japan, Canada, France, UK and Chile. Constantly pushing the boundaries of the pink ribbon status quo, Keep A Breast has always encouraged young people to love their boobies, get to know their bodies and be aware of changes.
