Paul gives a promised reward for those who think on what is true, pure, etc. And those who seek to imitate him as he imitated Christ. What is this reward? Paul says “And the God of peace will be with you.” If you dwell upon and practice these things, then God will dwell nearer to you. This is the believer's great longing, to have the Lord more manifestly near to them and to experience greater measures of God's peace.
