Hangar 9 DHC-2 Beaver 30cc ARF - Maiden Gerry couldn't wait to maiden his new de Havilland Beaver and picked a nasty day for it. Although the rain had let up for a bit, it was so windy that we were using a logging chain as a wind sock. Between the strong gusting winds, the grey clouds and the task of getting this awesome plane trimmed out, the video of the maiden is less than ideal, crap really. Conditions demanded that Gerry and Harv fly high enough to stay out of trouble while trimming and until they knew how the plane was going to behave. My camera was on full zoom much of the time and I was shakier than after an all-night espresso bender at Starbucks. We'll be back at the field on a nicer day to get some better video. I'll also try to do another video of this awesome Beaver (not going there lol) and have Gerry show you around the custom touches he lent to the assembly of my favorite scale civilian aircraft. I'm trying to talk Gerry into getting some manly bush wheels/tires, it would certainly make it look the part and make it look like it belonged here in Beautiful British Columbia. Me thinks however, the Beaver is more likely to get floats than it is to get tundra tires! Can't argue with that! Here's Gerry's setup: Hacker A60-7S V2 Phoenix HV110 Zippy 10s 4000 40C Team Enrich power 2x, 2s 1300 25C (Rx and future light power source) CC Bec Pro Hitec HS-7975HB XOAR 20x10 gas Spectrum AR7000 DSM2 Futaba 9c w/ spectrum module DM8 EagleTree eLogger V3 Miracle Super Light Series Spinner 1.75" Here's some info about this beautiful Beaver ;-) If you have any questions about this plane or Gerry's setup, you can ask Gerry directly.
