Every week, hundreds of Hamar people come from around the Hamar region to visit the market to sell their goods or to buy the good of others. Most of the people will need to cover many miles to reach the market from their village so they need to begin walking 1-2 days before the day of the market in order to cover the distance by foot. Most of the business is done in trade as hard currency is not common among the tribes. The goods at the market included shoes, beaded jewelry, wood carvings, sugar cane, various grains and my favorite, raw honey.
