You may be familiar with the story of Gypsy Rose and her mom Dee Dee Blanchard. There have been documentaries and a 20/20 special over the whole situation but now Hulu’s several episodes deep into their limited series The Act. Joey King plays Gypsy Rose who was raised by her mom, Dee Dee Blanchard, played by Patricia Arquette, to think that she had numerous health problems, like leukemia, epilepsy, heart murmurs. Gypsy and her then-boyfriend at the time, Nicolas Gottejohn, played by Calum Worthy ended Dee Dee’s mom’s life and are now both in prison. Gypsy is serving a 10-year sentence. So while Gypsy is still in prison, she is still aware of what’s going on in the media in regards to her life and her story. And we’ve recently found out what Gypsy thinks of Hulu’s limited series, The Act. Fancy Macelli, a family friend who also serves as a public spokesperson for the Blanchards is actually working on her own TV project about Gypsy's story called By Proxy but did call out the series saying it was: "very inaccurate. It's very sensationalized, it departs in ways that I would never think that they would've needed to depart.” It was revealed earlier this week that Gypsy, who is now engaged, met her fiance through a pen pal program at the Chilicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. She is currently wearing an engagement ring given to her by her fiance and once released, they’ll go ring-shopping together. Gypsy is also hoping to raise awareness of Munchausen by Proxy, the psychological disorder, that her mother, Dee Dee reportedly had, after she’s released. So I want to know from you guys!
