Guitar by Candlelight Test "Layla" (GH2 w/ Voigtlander f/0.95 Lens & XF105 w/ Sennheiser 416 Mic)

I am an independent filmmaker and audio/video engineer who created this video for testing purposes. I set up this shoot to test the low light capabilities of the Panasonic GH2 (Hacked to shoot at 100 Mbps) with a 25mm Voigtlander Nokton f/0.95 Lens in comparison with the Canon XF105 and to see how well I could use the uncompressed audio recorded on the XF105 with a Sennheiser MKH 416 microphone (mounted on the camera) for the shot I had with the GH2. I set up the XF105 so that I had a secondary shot of the chords that were being played and the GH2 was set up to get the wider shot. The main idea was to have high quality audio in combination with the low light capabilities of the GH2, but at the same time I wanted to see how the XF105 compared to the GH2 in low light if I did some work on the XF105 footage in post production. To represent the audio and video as it was captured, I did not alter the audio that was recorded by the XF105 or the video that was shot by the GH2. I did, however, spend some time trying to alter the XF105 footage in Final Cut Pro 7 so that it looked decent in low light. The gain on the XF105 was set to 12dB during recording and I used the Color Corrector 3-way to increase the whites and saturation. I also added a Smart Noise Reduction filter to the XF105 footage (with Motion Sensitivity set high). The GH2 was at ISO 800 at 24fps and the Voigtlander lens was set to an aperature of f/0.95. I performed Eric Clapton's "Layla" on the guitar to have some interesting subject matter and did a one-take test, so critique as you will but the test was not not intended to be about the performance.
