Grundig TK40 reel to reel tape recorder before restoration

Last time I involved with this machine was about thirty years ago. Since it belonged to my Father I would like to see it in working condition. The basic issue was the stuck and frozen lubricants of motor bearings. It repaired and after general cleaning and lubrication of any mechanical moving part I tested it and found that although it has the need for some new capacitors it is not a major problem for the operation. I also placed the voltage selector in 240 vac ( my grid is actually 230 vac ) because I don't want to give to the heaters 6.7 v as if it were, with the selector at 220 vac position. After all, everything in tk40 is original except a little piece of paper under the metal cover, with the tubes diagram. ( it belongs to tk42 ) Note: In the first video, showed the tk42 plastic cover. I changed it with the original tk40. ( i owned a tk42 for spares )
