Inspired by MyInspiredCreation https://www.youtube.com/user/MyInspiredCreation -- as much as I have been growing over the years I haven't grown green onions indoors.. but I have found how much fun it is and easy too..Thanks Jane! youtubers always inspiring others..:)
Growing Green Onions Indoors - works quite well and a wonderful way to pass the time during the winter months.
You can purchase these green onions in your local supermarket.
Wash them real well, cut off the green tops and plant the onion root , leave this section at least 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches long..
Soak the rooted section in water to rehydrate then plant in your desired pot and soil.. Place under artificial lighting or a good sunny window .
Feed them with organic food such as compost tea, worm castings tea and so on.. Thanks to Paula at https://www.youtube.com/user/Allen2045 for her wonderful worm castings.
Watch them regrow and they regrow very fast, harvest them to use fresh or you can freeze or dry the green tops for later use.
It is a fun growing experience and it is easy enough to do for anyone even your children .. Teaching them to grow their own food will benefit them for life..
Growing is Fun!
