DARKE COUNTY -- Family and friends gather in Darke County to lay to rest the last of the three boys killed in an accident over the weekend. Brian Mendenhall, 15, was one of those teens who died on Saturday night. More than one hundred people came to his funeral at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Greenville.Mendenhall's grandmother, Rebecca Skaggs, says her grandson was so full of life. "He enjoyed life, he loved people," she said. She says this tragedy with her grandson should remind everyone that it could happen to anyone."I'm going to tell you from an honest heart. Pray. Pray over your children. Everyday. Don't stop," said Skaggs. Two other teenagers were in that car with Mendenhall. Skaggs says the young teen who was so full of life wanted nothing more than his license."He was only like four feet tall, he looked like he was 8 and I was like Brian there's no way. You wouldn't be able to see over the steering wheel," said Skaggs. She says her grandson was a fighter. Mendenhall was born with a medical complication with his stomach."At the time they did the surgery, they said we don't know if he's going to live to be 5 months old, but he made it," said Skaggs. All the family and friends wrote on glow in the dark balloons and sent a message into the sky for Mendenhall. "I think God's going to take this and turn a lot of hearts and lives and change them. And Brian would have wanted that," said Skaggs.
