Grandeur of the Seas: Grand Cayman (Arrival & Departure with Carnival Liberty and Norwegian Pearl)

On January 16th, 2014 the Grandeur of the Seas sailed towards George Town Grand Cayman. In the early hours of that day she sailed past the Brilliance of the Seas and the Carnival Breeze who were both on there way to Cozumel after having spent the previous day in Grand Cayman. Ahead of the Grandeur's arrival the Norwegian Pearl was scheduled to arrive at 8am. At about 8:45am the Grandeur was notified that tendering at George Town would not be possible due to the rough sea conditions so all the ships would be relocated to Spotts Bay on a more protected side of the island. As we neared Grand Cayman the Allure of the Seas on a sea day sailing between Falmouth,Jamaica and Cozumel, Mexico could be seen on the horizon with the Carnival Liberty sliding in from the other side. The Carnival Liberty arrived at 10:00am with the Grandeur reaching her destination at 10:30am. During the day we took a trip over to George Town and visited the deserted port to see just how bad the sea conditions were. The waves were over the tender pier making it unusable for sure. The NCL Pearl was then the first ship to depart at 4:00pm with the Grandeur of the Seas and Carnival Liberty leaving at 6:00pm.
