! I would recommend turning on Closed Captions ! I decided that I wanted to make some videos showcasing the darker parts of Lolita from the novel. I see a lot of the same "*romantic*" quotes but I never see people posting Humbert's more horrible quotes. In this video I used quotes from when Humbert fantasized about giving Dolores and her mother sleeping pills. In the movie, it shows us Humbert going to the doctor to get sleeping pills for only Charlotte because he did not want to have sex with her. However in the book he does this in order to drug the mother so he can have his way with Dolores. It's also important to note how he said he "would not go that far" however not long after he ends up going to the doctor to try and make his fantasies a reality.
