Check out this video to learn how knowing the question types and knowing what to look for will save you time on the Critical Reasoning section of the GMAT. When you know your strategy before even get to the test center, you're well on your way to an improved GMAT score! :) First, let's talk about knowing your job - that is, knowing what the question types are within Critical Reasoning. There are 8 different kinds of questions: 1. Weaken the argument / find the flaw 2. Strengthen the argument 3. Find the assumption 4. Draw an inference / conclusion 5. Structure of the argument 6. Paradox 7. Evaluate the conclusion 8. Complete the argument Now, you need to know what to look for! For question types 1 - 3, you need to find an assumption. For types 4 - 8, you need to begin by putting the argument into your own words. To do that, ask yourself what the structure of the paragraph is. Also think about what paradox needs to be resolved, and what information we need to evaluate the conclusion. Do you have more questions about how to crush the critical reasoning section? If so, let us know in the comments and we might make a video tutorial about it!
