On March 3rd Sony and Columbia released the 1st trailer for the upcoming film, Ghostbusters. This new film is not being marketed as a sequel, but rather a reimagining/reboot of the franchise. It features 4 scientists in New York City who develop equipment to capture ghosts - much like the 1984 film of the same name. But the question remains is this a remake, reboot, sequel, or stand alone movie? The opening seconds of this trailer refer to the original movies - but yet the film supposedly doesn't acknowledge these events ever happened.
I share my thoughts and comparisons between some of the scenes shown in the new trailer versus the original Ghostbusters Movie from 1984, and a bit added from the sequel, Ghostbusters 2 in 1989.
