She got her B.A. in Music Theory and Composition at St. Olaf College in MN. Sonja's music has been compared to Joni Mitchell, Taylor Swift, John Mayer, and Carol King. She is known for her poignant lyrics and storytelling, with a back to basics style, nodding to the modern pop song style but incorporating her composition skills. She has played all over Los Angeles, and has a monthly show at Bar Lubitsch in Hollywood. Sonja's live album recorded at Universal Mastering Studios was released April 26th, 2016
