It's free to subscribe :) so please do ! This video is about Freelander 2 door lock fix Pt.1 If your Range Rover, Discovery or Freelander is no longer unlocking correctly or intermittently. The door lock/unlock unit contains two DC brushed motors used to drive door release cables. The primary DC motor over time wears out, the issue is with the carbon bushes and the grease used. JLR service centers charge over £250 to replace the unit which can be purchased on eBay for around £80. These videos shows the process to remove the door cartridge and replace the unit. As well as a minor mistake by me damaging the door lock/unlock internal control cable due to its design.
