#YouHaveControl - FITA held a Fly Day with Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF) of Nigeria. The day was a networking event to link various people and organisations to get together and discuss polio eradication and polio survivors. Our guests represented Rotary International UK, British Polio Fellowship, SEOF and junior Paralympic athletes, who are supported by SEOF, The Douglas Bader Foundation, and others.
Attending the event was British / Kenyan Paralympian Anne Wafula Strike, MBE. Who survived polio in Kenya, and went on to become a sporting hero. She had her first flying lesson with us and we hope she will continue with her new found love of Freedom..
Flying aeroplanes can raise people’s sights, expand their horizons, improve their life chances and fulfill their potential. FITA want to train pilots with disabilities who can emulate the unbreakable spirit of air ace Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader. The emphasis is on challenging people with disabilities, talent building and creativity.
FITA is a unique and not-for-profit aviation Community Interest Company, committed to broadening horizons for people with disabilities by empowering them to fly higher socially, physically and professionally.
