On January 31, Frank Mugisha, Chairperson of SMUG (Sexual Minorities Uganda) spoke just days after the brutal murder of his colleague and mentor, David Kato, one of the founders of Uganda's gay activist movement. Mugisha spoke movingly about Kato and the important work to be done on behalf of the Ugandan LGBTQ community and the activists worldwide who are facing real threats of hostility, injustice, and violence.
