Forces launch cordon, search operation in Shopian's 13 villages

SRINAGAR: Security forces on Thursday launched a cordon and search operation in as many as 13 villages of Shopian district. On Monday, three militants were gunned down and a soldier was killed in an encounter between the security forces and militants in J&K's Pulwama district. The gunbattle took place in Pulwama's Aglar Kandi. A day earlier, the Indian Army foiled a major infiltration bid and killed two militants in an encounter Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
