Flash floods batter UK (May 27 2018)

More than 20 flood warnings have been put in place for the UK as dramatic pictures show the impact of the flash floods and thunderstorms. There were dramatic scenes in the Midlands today as flash floods and huge storms battered the region, prompting forecasters to warn of a 'danger to life'. A major route into Birmingham was left impassable by floodwater up to 5ft deep, while homes were flooded and cars were left underwater in other areas. The Met Office also forecast more rain and thunder on Monday afternoon across southern England and Wales. Parts of Wales, southern and central England also face the risk of lightning strikes, strong winds and hail, which could cause flooding. SOURCE: UK Met office
