Fixing a Saeco Royal espresso machine water leak

If clean water leaks from between the tank and the machine when the tank is installed, then you need to replace the donut gasket that's under the gray cover on the machine. It's Saeco part number 996530015823 and costs about $5. If the tank leaks while NOT installed, then you need the tank kit which is the plunger, o-ring, and spring. You can buy ALL of these parts together for $15 if you search for B00CMSIKW8 on Amazon. My machine is over ten years old and has 20,700 coffees on the internal counter. About a year ago it started leaking when the tank was not installed. Then recently we found a big puddle on the counter and floor because it started leaking when it was installed also. So I'd recommend buying the full kit and replacing both when either fails. It's cheap insurance against having to go days without coffee.
