Hey there! In today's video, I'll be showing you 3 easy to follow methods in order to resolve this error: "This device cannot be used for ReadyBoost".
METHOD 1
Step 1. Run the REGEDIT
Step 2. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\EMDMgmt
Step 3. Delete all subkeys and then check whether ReadyBoost is available
METHOD 2 - Formatting your USB flash drive
Try formatting your USB device that you want to use for ReadyBoost. Make sure that its File System is NTFS!
METHOD 3
Step 1. Run the REGEDIT
Step 2. Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\EMDMgmt
Step 3. Set DeviceStatus key value data to 2 instead of 6.
Step 4. Also, create new QWORD (64-bit) value data key, called SpeedReadKBs and set its value data (in Decimal) to 1000.
After you've done this, ReadyBoost should work fine now.
