The Alta is back, this time with a heart rate monitor and it will most likely be on the list for Best Fitness Tracker 2019 and Best Activity Tracker 2019. The Fitbit Alta is sleek, small and comfortable and the bands are interchangeable. However, if you want any of the true performance features like GPS or Connected GPS you might want to think about upgrading to the Fitbit Blaze or Fitbit Charge 2. At any rate, the Fitbit Alta will track steps, calories burned, distance traveled, active minutes, HR and sleep. Now with that heart rate sensor, it is tracking your HR 24x7 in 5 second intervals and Fitbit uses that to help estimate calories burned as well as sleep metrics. However, just so you know you cant pair the new Fitbit Alta external HRMs. Fitbit also has something called SmartTrack, which will automatically recognize when you're working out and log that data for you. You also have daily alarms that you can set within the mobile app and move reminders. However, the biggest downside with the Fitbit Alta HR is the display. It has bad visibility in sunlight. Overall though, we still like this new Fitbit activity tracker a lot. It will most likely be included within the Best Fitness Device 2019 or Best Fitness Trackers 2019. Hope you enjoyed this video.
