FishTales: Crappie Crazy Terrific Tuesday

Crazy good crappie fishing! This happens every spring as the crappie move shallow to spawn along the shore in the rocks and reeds or whatever cover is present. That's what the boys and I experienced at a local lake not necessarily known for it's fishing. Lake Bryan is a nutrient poor cooling lake for BTU's power plant and is mostly filled with well water. Basically well water is void of nutrients usually present in more natural bodies of water that are fed from creeks and rivers so the fishing at Lake Bryan is only fair at best for most of the year except when it's "crappie time"!
