FISHING FOR THE NEEDLE IN THE FOOT, FOREIGN BODY REMOVED FROM FOOT

Dr. Leo Krawetz of Tampa , Wesley Chapel and Brooksville, Florida removes a needle from a patient's foot. She said " I stepped on a needle and I think I have a needle in my foot". She went to the ER for x-rays which shows a piece of metal, which is the needle, inside the foot. Dr. Leo removes the needle from the foot with an incision on the bottom of the foot and looks for the foreign body in the foot with a hemostat and tweezers. If you step on something and you think there is something in the foot like a sand spur or a needle or a spur or a pin or a sewing needle in the foot then you need foot x-rays to see the metal in the foot.
