I have been very happy with my Canon 5D photo camera for many years, but it would be very nice if I could use my set of good lenses for video.
Buying a new 5D Mark III was one hell of a few thousand euros too far... So I added the much cheaper but very good Canon 650D with its video capabilities to my equipment.
Tonight I did a first test, with the equally new EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM... which was very instructive at least.
Hint 1: Don't try to film macro without a tripod, while standing shaky on a bushy and little swampy soil.
Hint 2: Don't try to film macro when it is too windy.
This video is the result when you ignore the hints above, and have to use Avid Studio's stabilization (with Extreme preset) to save some of the fun.
Ok... I'm learning that filming macro with an SLR is different from taking photo's :-)
