First Impressions - Shadow Star - Great Parallax Mapping - Good Storyline - Balanced Combat - RPGMMV

How's it going everyone in this RPG Maker MV First Impressions video we take a look at a great game from Steven Stall called Shadow Star. This game uses some default assets and that's probably the only downside to it. The story-line and narrative is well written and charming. The battle system, which is a side view system with action sequencing, is balanced and the boss fights are a decent challenge. The cut-scenes and auto-run events are well done. (I find a few bugs here and there.) Where this game really shines is the brilliant use of parallax mapping and the map design. The overall feel of the game and it's atmosphere is engaging. The maps have a few spots where Yanfly's region restriction plugin could easily fix, but the lighting on all the maps are done brilliantly. Speaking of lighting, this game itself was a light in a very dark place for me, after playing several bad games back to back I needed something like this one to restore my faith in humanity. So thank you for sending me this game Steven. I feel that if you swap out some of the default background music, some of the default battlers for some more custom ones, and maybe even some of the maps for custom made resources this could even be a much better game. My overall review for this project is extremely positive. I loved it, and would like to see it improved with more custom assets and with the bugs I pointed out fixed.
