Farewell to the R42

Farewell to the R42У вашего броузера проблема в совместимости с HTML5
Introduced in 1969 from the St. Louis Car Company, the R42 subway car was the first fully air conditioned fleet and the MTA's first car order. It was also the last car order with bench seats until the R142, the last 60 ft car order until the R143, the last fleet to be delivered without door chimes and the last fleet to be delivered without a full width or convertible cab. They were the workhorses of the BMT Eastern Division J/M/Z and L from the 1980s until the arrival of R143 R160 and finally the R179. While the fleet was officially retired after the morning peak on 12/30/19, these old trains temporarily returned to service after the withdrawal of the R179 fleet due to door problems.
