Faces2Hearts in CAPE VERDE: Bringing energy to remote areas of Santo Antão

Tarrafal de Monte Trigo and Monte Trigo are two neighbourhoods in Santo Antao that have great conditions for fishing and agriculture. However these neighbourhoods are not easily accessible. This project's name is SESAM-ER. It has brought electricity to Tarrafal by extending the public electric network there, and has installed solar panels in Monte Trigo, providing the village with nearly 24h/24 electricity disponibility, compared to the former 4h. SESAM-ER was financed by the European Union and the municipal chamber of Porto Novo. This project was executed by a consortium of companies and institutions coordinated by Aguas de Ponta Preta(APP).
