n 2012 in lead up to the fire season the Moorabool Shire Emergency Service Management Team staged full scale evacuation of their region to test their emergency evacuation plan. As a result they were able to identify the gaps in their plans. This exercise demonstrated the regions dedication to community preparedness and they were awarded the 2013 Community Preparedness Award – Fire Awareness Awards.
