Want to show your students that science, exploration, and conservation are alive outside of their textbooks? Join a live video conference with a National Geographic explorer. We have an exciting opportunity coming up over the next two months to follow along with two of the world's leading cave divers, Kenny Broad and Jill Heinerth, as they prepare to explore and create 3D maps of blue holes. A blue hole is a large marine cavern or sinkhole, which is open to the surface and has developed in a bank or island composed of a carbonate bedrock. They are are among the least studied and most threatened habitats on Earth. On November 18, Kenny and Jill will introduce themselves and share their adventures exploring some of the most remote regions on the planet. Stay tuned because in December, Explorer Classroom will connect with them again as they broadcast directly from the blue holes! Please Note: Explorer Classroom sessions are live events hosted on YouTube. They are open to the public and recorded. Please share these terms with parents of students who will participate live on camera. If any parents or students prefer not to be on camera, please accommodate their wishes in your classroom.
