Everything You NEED to Know about LuxRender - Blender Tutorial

LuxRender is by far my favourite rendering engine, and the only thing that stops me using it more is how difficult it is to use. I wanted to make this tutorial to help you get around the common problems with LuxRender. For me, the hardest part of any LuxRender project is installing it properly and making sure it's all working! After that, it's painful getting the render to complete in a reasonable amount of time, so I wanted to share my experience in all of these areas. This basic combination of lighting and materials gets realistic enough results that I often use these render settings as-is. A lot of my physics simulations (like my tower collapses that I use Lux in) use basic materials like these without any need for texturing. Often my lighting is even more basic than here, because I don't always use HDR maps. The techniques I've taught here are versatile, and I'd love to see what you come up with :) The example artwork at the beginning of the video is to showcase the amazing things that LuxRender is capable of.
