So what this is about is that two people (Owen and Beatrice) were really close when they were young. At one point, Beatrice did something and screwed Owen over really badly. Years pass and Beatrice is still apologizing, trying to make things right, and trying to be part of his life. He refuses to forgive her and his grudge ends up hurting her, but him the most. There's other stuff but I'm too lazy.
