A closer look at some of the intricate relief-work in one of the side chambers of the temple. All of the images you see contain numerous symbolisms that crop up again and again as you travel throughout Egypt. Many of the female figures have the horns of the cow-goddess Hathor holding the disk of the sun god Re, her husband. Also, many of the pharaohs have the combined crowns of upper and lower Egypt. The Hedjet was the white crown of Upper (southern) Egypt which looks like a bowling pin. The Deshret was the red crown of Lower (northern) Egypt which looks like a high-backed chair. The crown that later pharaohs wore was a combination of the two showing that they ruled all of Egypt. This footage was recorded June 12, 2012.
