Dueling Generators Homelite 5000 versus Generac GP5500

Living off grid, we use a lot of portable generators over the years. Two "workhorses" we've had for a while are the Homelite 5000 with Subaru engine and the Generac GP5500. Just today, we had reason to take a close look at both machines...and were mightily surprised at some of the results.
