DR STUMP LTD. Dismantle of a mature Beech tree infected with Meripilus Giganteus

This is a demonstration video of some of the services DR STUMP LTD offer. In this video we are dismantling and felling a Mature beech tree. The tree has been colonised by Meripilus Giganteus, a Polypore fungus. It causes a white rot in various types of broad-leaved trees, particularly beech. We are scanning the ground for utilities prior to works, whilst also checking utilities maps for gas and water. Our qualified, insured and certified climbers methodically dismantle the beech in a way not unbalance the tree whilst the work is being carried out, due to the extent of rot in the root plate. Once the tree has been felled we are grinding the tree stump with a stump grinder. this is to help reduce the risk of fungal growth and consequently spread of the Polypore. After the stem has been felled we milled the main stem into various size slabs, ready for air drying over the next three years. DR STUMP LTD are based in Norwich, Norfolk, UK.
