The idea of tooth worm is a false theory in dental caries. Dental caries is decay of the tooth caused by germs or bacteria. the process of tooth decay starts with the food that we eat that get stuck between the surfaces of the teeth and between the fissures on the tooth surface, the anatomy of the tooth such that there is a high tendency of the food that has to be stuck on the tooth surfaces because of the type of food that we eat nowadays, which is processed food. The earliest sign of tooth decay are a chalky white like appearance on the surface of the tooth indicating that there is some area of demineralization on the tooth surface. As this is a continuous process, demineralization occurs even further and small cavity forms in that area. The process is very rapid as the conditions are very favorable. As such the mouth temperature is very high and the number of bacteria in the saliva are very high level.
