For the first time in 20 years doctors in Zimbabwe doctors have successfully separated conjoined twins. The operation which lasted eight hours was hailed by the country's president Robert Mugabe as a wonder. In most cases the separation of conjoined twins is extremely risky. The condition occurs in one in 200 000 births . Twins who are not separated have a 75 percent chance of dying.
