Thanks for coming back. Do carbs really make you fat? Really? Everybody's gone keto crazy these days. Every now and then we get a diet that just blows people away. They love it and keto is one of those diets at the moment. I can tell you guys in another five years, there'll be some other diet. It'll be the iRobot diet or the Apple phone diet or the, I don't know. The Antarctic is melting diet. Who knows what kind of diets are going to come out. But I've got a lot of diet books as you know, they're flavor of the month. When in the 70s I wore jeans with holes in the knees, I was smacked around the face. And now everybody wears holes with jeans in them. I mean, I can't live in this world much longer. Everything's changing every five minutes. Have you noticed? Forget about this keto diet. You need carbohydrates and I'm going to tell you why. Okay? Carbs is not a four letter word. You see, actually, it is a four letter word, isn't it? And protein is not a four letter word, but does it mean you've got to stay away from carbs? No. You know you know about carbs? I've talked about a lot on this channel, okay? You need to avoid the wrong kind of carbs and eat the right kind of carbs. That's the difference. All right? So don't let people brainwash you into saying that carbs are like radioactive nuclear waste. When you eat them, you will die, your hair or fall out. That's what some people feel now. All right? I remember it was only five minutes ago when Sophia Loren was pushing the pesto diet. Everybody should eat high carbohydrate diets, so it's very confusing for old geezers like me, all right? Very confusing. But I can cut through all the crap. You know what carbs to avoid: candy, ice cream, soda drinks, shitty, cheap, crappy bread. Okay? Donuts. I get sick and tired of those Dunkin Donuts stands. I feel like throwing some gasoline on them when I see them. I get sick of people queuing up and eating this junk. This is the stuff that's got to go. This is crap. It's not even food. It's like for pet pet food, it's not even pet food. It would kill pets to eat that stuff. This is the stuff that's going to stop, right? Not sweet potatoes, not broccoli, not vegetables, not fruits. I keep getting these dumb comments on my YouTube channel, "OMG, you're so behind the times," with like five exclamation marks. "Don't you know that all fruits and vegetables contain [inaudible] toxins and they're poisonous. We should avoid them. People should only eat meat," exclamation mark. People like that need a one way ticket to Mars. They really do. Okay, go somewhere else. Just take your crap and go somewhere. I get sick of these comments. All right. Leave them alone. Just leave me alone. I'll delete them when I see them. You need vegetables and fruits in your diet. Vegetables particularly, you need starches. You need fiber. Good luck getting fiber from a two pound steak. You're not going to get any fiber out of that. You're going to get a lot of fat and a lot of protein. It's the bacteria we want to cultivate. It's the sugar angle we want to cultivate, but the right sugar angle. Okay? I'm not talking about three teaspoons of sugar in a cup of coffee. That's the wrong kind of carbohydrate. So try and get your head around that sugars are carbs, okay? But there's bad sugars, there's really bad sugars, there's good sugars, and there's outstanding sugars. You can't tell me for one moment that a sweet potato is going to make you fat, going to make you sick, going to make you ugly. So when you choose the right carbohydrates over the wrong ones, and especially when you understand about portion size and moving your body, you're going to lose weight. You're going to lose a lot of weight. You're going to look great, especially if you hang in there, right? As you know, when you first start on a weight loss program, you're going to lose a lot of fluid and probably a few pound in the bowel that needs cleaning out. And then you'll stop. Then you want to keep on moving and working and fine tuning the diet. So now you know. Don't let people brainwash you and say to you that all carbs are evil because they don't know what they're talking about. So the question was, "Do carbs really make you fat?" Yes they do if you eat the wrong carbs. But then again, if you read a lot of meat and fat, it's going to make you fat anyway.
