DIY loaded horn speakers with Fostex FE126En. Fostex FE126En speakers are full range high efficiency, sound awesome good and look handsome. I wanted to build a Hifi speakers for my EL84 Push Pull tubes amplifier. The amplifier put out max of 12W per channel so I really need a hi efficiency speakers and speaker enclosure. I found the speakers and enclosure plan form Madisound web site. It took me a month to build the speakers. Started with one 4x8 sheet of 3/4 MDF from Home Depot cut down to pieces. I used dremel tools with circle jig to cut holes for the speakers, all piece glue together with wood glue no nails or screws. Stain the speakers two tone with 2 coats of Varathane wood stain. Finally installed speakers , Baffle Step Compensation Circuit and Zobel Circuit. Listen impression was the speakers sound so good detail in mid and hi are clear, low(bass) also good. In the video I only the volume about half and it already sound so loud, later on I crank volume to max sound very loud but no clipping or distortion. Dire Straits just sound so good with these Hifi/Hi-End speakers. I love it these speakers sound way better than my Polk Audio speakers. The next DIY speakers I going to build is The Voight-Pipe (TQWT) or Zigmahornets Speakers and enclosure plans are here. http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/full-range-speaker-kits/fostex-bk-12m-folded-horn-kit-pair/ Back Step Compensation and Zobel Circuit are here. http://diyaudioprojects.com/Technical/Baffle-Step-Correction-Circuit-Calculator/ Sound Track Private Investigation from Dire Straits.
