Todays DigiByte Update is a bit of a "first look" at why Schnorr Signatures are a good thing. Unfortunately as this is all very "off-the-cuff", I'm aware that I double-up on certain aspects, and while trying to simplify this as best as possible I may not have done the best job of it. Still, it's a start for many people to introduce them to Schnorr Sigs etc If you want to, I recommend starting here with this video by one of the developers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSUVRj8iznU These are the BIP's we're looking to implement: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/pull/876 Check out some information on it by Bitmex research: https://blog.bitmex.com/the-schnorr-signature-taproot-softfork-proposal/ Here's some of the discussion around MimbleWimble and why it's not a "Privacy" change, but rather a "Fungibility" change: https://github.com/litecoin-project/lips/issues/10 If you want to check out the work on DigiByte 8.19 then you can do-so here: https://github.com/digibyte/digibyte/tree/8.19.0 Some further light reading if you're curious: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/taproot-coming-what-it-and-how-it-will-benefit-bitcoin https://bitcoinist.com/schnorr-taproot-soft-fork-promises-big-things-for-bitcoin/ https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/taproot-coming-what-it-and-how-it-will-benefit-bitcoin
