Diagnosis and Treatment | Heart Failure (Part 4)

This 4th lesson is the final lesson in our series on heart failure. In this lesson we cover the diagnosis of heart failure, heart failure classification, as well as a good look at heart failure treatment. This lesson concludes the series by giving you the final tools you need to identify and then the treatment of heart failure in your patients. We start talking about the different diagnostic tests that can be used to help identify that your patient might have heart failure. We talk about EKGs, x-rays, echos, hemodynamics and lab tests. From there we move in to the 2 primary classification systems used around the country for quantifying the extent of your patients heart failure. We cover the 4 classifications for each stage and what you would be looking for in each. From there we move on to talk about the treatment of heart failure, specifically when your patient is in the early stages as well as when they are in the late stage of heart failure. We compare the preventative natures of early stage and the symptom management of late stage heart failure. We cover a lot of different treatment modalities when talking about this symptom management.
