Detroit: Mom pimps out Daughter

http://detroitiscrap.blogspot.com DETROIT (WJBK) -- The sheriff's department arrested 34-year-old Tracey Rasheed during a recent raid at a home on Cherrylawn near Curtis in Detroit. They say her own 16-year-old daughter was there amid guns, drugs and prostitution. "The mother's obviously aware. She's obviously a part of it. It's her house and her child is dancing for adults for a fee," says Wayne County Sheriff Warren Evans. However, Rasheed's attorney paints a much different picture, calling his client a loving mother, devoted friend and productive member of society. He says the 16-year-old that was taken into protective custody is now missing after running away from a residential facility. "She loves her daughter. She wants to protect her daughter and, most importantly right now, she wants to find her daughter," says attorney Jermaine Wyrick. The sheriff's department confirms they are looking for the girl, who has a troubled past. In the wake of the charges, Rasheed is now being evicted from the house. Two men are also charged in the case, accused of helping Rasheed run the cash-for-sex operation. Rasheed is expected to post bond and will likely be placed on a tether through the holidays. She's due back in court during the first week in January.
